Calorie density of foods

Calorie density is the number of calories in a gram of food (kcal/g). Foods high in water and fiber sit at the low end — you can eat a lot of them for very few calories. Fatty, dry, or sugary foods concentrate energy at the high end. Every food page shows calories per gram, per 100 g, and per common portion.
